Lessons from Trailblazers - Amanda Tyler in conversation with Helen Murrell

Don't miss the chance to meet Ruth Bader Ginsburg's co-author and former clerk and the ACT's first female Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership together with the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences and the ANU College of Law are pleased to present a special event looking at female trailblazers in the law.

Amanda L. Tyler is the Shannon Cecil Turner Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Professor Tyler served as a law clerk to the Hon Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the Supreme Court of the United States and is the co-author, with Ginsburg, of Justice, Justice Thou Shalt Pursue: A Life’s Work Fighting for a More Perfect Union published in early 2021. Professor Tyler is in Canberra for an event with the Canberra Writer's Festival.

Dr Heather Roberts, Associate Professor in the ANU College of Law will facilitate what is sure to be an inspiring conversation between Tyler and the Hon Helen Murrell SC, the first female Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the ACT.

Targeted at the next generation of legal minds and advocates for gender equality, this event will provide an opportunity for ANU students to engage directly with these incredible trailblazers and look at the lessons learnt, how far we have come and opportunities for the future with a more diverse legal establishment.
